3 killed as militant and soldiers clash in Delta State


The commander of the force , Alani Okunlola, said three people were killed while other were injured when the Joint Task Force clash with militants in Delta State. A suspect was arrested with different types of arms and ammunition after the operation took place in Banigboye community of Burutu Local Government Area on September 5.

He said ,"My men attack a militant camp in Benigboye. On sighting the troops, the suspects opened fire which led to a gun battle that lasted for thirty minutes before they fled the camp. In the follow up operation on September 6, my troops, on getting information on the hideout of the suspected militants that attacked Odimodi community, launched a search operation and apprehended one Ebiwame Lamia,"


Lamia admit to have been involved in the clash that took place in Benigboye. He said three were killed while some escaped with bullet wounds. He mentioned weapons that were collected from the camp which include AK47 automatic rifle, Light machine gun, medium machine gun and AK 47 other weapons that were recovered were SMG, Explosive, shot gun, G3 riffles
