7 year old daughter given N10 after been raped by Trader

It was learnt that anytime her father is not around and Ngozi feels sexual hasten , she would invite boys to touch her private parts in her parent's apartment. Ngozi was often raped by her father.

Mr Emeka who is 41 year old lives in the Federal Housing Estate, Meiran, Ojokoro, Lagos State. The victim mother first discover the act back in January and was reported to the Ojokoro Police Division but the case was dismissed as family matter.

Mr Emeka is from Orlu, an Imo State indigene , a father of four children was arrested and reported to the Project Alert on Violence against Women which was a non-governmental organization which was then transferred to the Area F Police Command.



She narrated how the act was carried out saying everything he insert his fingers into her private parts, he would press her head down and force his manhood into her mouth, then gives her N10 after the act. She said her elder brother who is 9 year old sometimes watch from the window.

She said it all started last year when her mother was washing clothes and she went to buy something. After arriving , Mr Emeka asked her to come into the living room then told the other kids to go into their rooms.

Her mother ( Mrs Endurance)  said , she has been married to the suspect for over 10 years and never knew he could do such a thing. She also said their first child , Ebuka had been telling her that Ngozi do masturbate but she never believed it . She continued that the first time she saw her daughter doing it , she beat her up and tell her to stop it because it was bad , then she told her husband about it but said noting was wrong with her.

She did the same thing to a neighbour four year old son in their parents apartment and was caught by the boy's mother. After the act Mrs Endurance confronted Ngozi if anybody has been touching her private parts but she said no. Then Ebuka told her mother was has been happening between Ngozi and her father.

Mrs Endurance fronted her husband with the allegation , then reported it to Alakuko Police Station from where she was referred to the Ojokoro Police Division. Test were carried out on the victim at the General Hospital, Ile Epo which shows there was penetration in Ngozi's private parts. Mrs Endurance was advised to run an infection test on her daughter, before her in-laws asked her to withdraw the case.

The Divisional Police Officer at Ojokoro threatened to lock her up with false claims that she intentionally set her husband up because he had not been treating her well.

She said they all went back home and everything was back to normal until in August when her father started playing with Ngozi's private parts again. Ebuka reported the act to their mother. Mr Emeka was challenged by their neighbours but denied any wrong doing to the child.

Mr Olaitan Adebiyi , the community youth leader later heard about the act and confronted Mrs Endurance who later give account of all what her husband has been doing to their daughter.
The Executives to the area met , then went over to the victims apartment to confirm the act . His co-tenants confirmed that he has been doing it for a very long time.

He was arrested on Friday morning and was talking to the police station but denied assaulting his daughter. He said the only time he touch her daughter's private part was when he saw soil on her pants then took water and washed her.

The Director of Project Alert, Mrs Josephine Effah-Chukwuwa, said " This is a clear case of sexual abuse, and we are having epidemic in out hand. Hardly a week goes by without us having cases of children between the ages of three to seven being defiled".

"It is clear that this woman and her children can no longer live with him. The victim is seven and she has a five year old younger sister, and if this is not well handled, this man will move on to the little girl as well".

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Patricia Amadin said " The case is confirmed. The suspect has also confessed to the crime especially after his first son said he saw him".

"We will be transferring the case to the Area G Command, Ogba. Investigation is ongoing, and justice will be done".
