Dr. Adedayo Adewumi a 29 year old graduate of Anatomy cause confusion after his disappearance. It was accumulated that Adebayo was visiting Lagos for the first time and went missing on 27 August after he said he want some fresh air outside the house.
The relatives said he left Port Harcourt, River State for Lagos State on 22 of August and was staying with his relatives in Surulere Area , Alawode Street,Kilo. On this fateful day he left the house for some fresh air and left his phone behind.
Adebayo's father Mr. Ademola Adewumi was a retired engineer with Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation said he was worried because of his missing son was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2006 when he was studying Medicine at the University of Ilorin, kwara State.
Schizophrenia is a very serious mental illness in which someone cannot think or behave normally and often experiences delusions. which involve a breakdown in relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.
He had lots of difficulties while he was schooling which made him change from Medicine to Anatomy. His father said he sure his some is wandering around somewhere . Different police station have been visited but no success. Adebayo is the first born in the family of 3, with younger brothers named Adeshina Adewumi who is a banker at a bank in lagos. Adebayo illness made him loose contact with friends.
DSP Patricia Amadin spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command assured to get work on the case.
