A tenant named Abdullahi was arrested by the Police in Ogun State for killing his landlady Mrs Raliat Olasupo in the Ibafo area of the state. It was learnt that the landlady was slaughtered by Abdullahi for not paying the services he rendered. The service rendered was the roofing of one of the rooms in the house owned by the deceased.
On the fateful day which was on Friday Abdullahhi went into his landlady's room and slaughtered her with a knife at about 8 pm. The other tenants and neighbours later found her in a pool of blood. The incident was reported to Ibafo Police Divison and Abdullahi was arrested.
Her body was taken to Ibadan and was buried by her family. It was learnt that Abdullahi had been with he landlady for 4 years. He used to be good friends with the landlady but fell out 2 weeks ago. Mr Abdullahi coordinated the people who worked on the roof of his room and demanded N9,000 from the landlady which lead to the disagreement between them.
It was learnt that some days ago the landlady brought policemen from Ibafo to warn Abdullahi and to ask him to leave the house. His property was thrown out and the landlady warned him not to return to the house. Abdullahi had previously threatened to deal with the landlady before the attack was carried out on friday.
On the day of the incident Abdullahi was drunk after killing his landlady he tried disguising in his neighbour clothes and tried to fled the scene but was caught by other tenants.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. The police spokesperson added that the matter had been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
He said "The suspect is in our custody and investigations are ongoing on the matter. The matter is now with the SDCI, Abeokuta. When we conclude our investigation, the suspect will definitely be charged to court.
