Deserted victim cries out ......


Chidiebere Okafor was involve in an auto crash accident on 13 December 2014 which claimed his legs after enrolled in an auto workshop two months after. He is from Abagana in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. Chidiebere is from a family of 10 and he is the fourth child in the family.He is a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe Secondary School, Abagana in class Senior Secondary School 2 (SS2). 

He dropped out to pursue a career in auto mechanic after in time of is parents being unable to cope with the increasing in their family. He worked under a company name Bony Mass Company in Aba, Abia State. On this fatefully day his boss sent him and a senior staff to work on a truck that broke down. He said they stayed three days repairing the truck, while they were reparing the truck , the driver while drinking and the senior mechanic were at the front working on the truck while he was asked to sit on the chipping at the back ..


 In short time the drunk driver was misbehaving on the road with other vehicles.  After repairing the truck , the driver was driving in high speed while he was trying to made a sharp bend in high speed which made the truck face another incoming vehicle from the other side. 

The driver tried to avoid collision with the incoming vehicle, the bucket of the truck flew over and buried chidiebere under the chipping. He ordeal the heard some voices shouting his name and then he responsed, eventually the bucket we removed and his two legs were chopped off. He was rushed to six different hospitals before he was finally admitted into a hospital called Hornsmans Hospital.

His parents were contact , when they arrived at the hospital they could hardly recognize their son because of the condition he was in. The manager to the company where chidiebere works payed only (N79,000) out of the initial deposit of (N130,000) that was made

His father had to pay the rest of the money , the driver of the truck was no were to be found and didn't an attempt to check on chidiebere at the hospital.

The doctor said chidiebere's medical bill was over N500,000 , his parent couldn't meet up with the bills . Chidiebere was discharge in April due to insufficient fund. Mr. Ossy Presitge who is a member of Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency picked up chidiebere bills while other people living the area assisted so that he get an artificial limbs. 

A source at the hospital said an artificial leg sells is sold for N300,000.  Dr Emmanuel Emelike who is one of the consultant orthopedists at the hospital said Chidiebere' survival is due to the hard work and divine intervention on part of the hospital.
