A 25 year old man named Abubakar Mohammed was sentenced to one month imprisonment by the Chief Magistrate's Court in Jos for impersonating as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Mohammed was sentence by The Magistrate, Mr Tijanni Zololo after he pleaded guilty to the crime and begged the court for leniency. However Mr Tijanni gave Mohammed a fine to N100,000.
The convict who lives in Mubana Mujaye, Sokoto State , was charged with impersonation and forgery.
Cpl Samuel Chirkwap who was the police prosecutor told the court that the convict was arraigned and take to the police station after fake documents were found on him. A degree certificate of Usman Danfodio University , Sokoto was found on him
Cpl Samuel Chirkwap said that the offence infringe the provisions of Section 179 and 111 of the Penal Code
