At Afghan prison hundreds of inmate escape after Taliban raid


It was reported that a Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility on the attack that took place on Monday.

"Around 2:30 am six Taliban insurgents wearing military uniforms attacked Ghazni prison. First they detonated a car bomb in front of the gate, fired an RPG and then raided the prison,"

The Deputy provincial Governor Mohammed Ali Ahmadi told AFP news agency that 3 Taliban fighters were killed in the attack,4 police guards were killed and 7 others were injured .




He also said that Taliban fighters stormed the prison in the central Afghan city of Ghanzi releasing many prisoners and killing police officers.

After the attack it was reported that 352 inmates escaped from the prison .
